Institutional effectiveness
, is broadly defined as the extent to which an institution achieves its mission and goals. Institutional Effectiveness, also known as the "IE" funciton, is the ongoing processes of planning, goal-setting, outcome development, and assessment of both the College as a whole and of each department and program area. The underlying purpose of IE is to continually evaluate every functional area of the institution and use the results to make improvements in educational quality and service to the community.
The Office of Planning and Research is responsible for coordinating IE activities campus-wide and assisting departments and program areas in the development of an annual Institutional Effectiveness Plan, also know as the IEP.
