Vision Transylvania/Brevard is a comprehensive leadership development program to promote informed and committed civic volunteerism. Accordingly, its programs are designed to help participants acquire both a fuller sense of the wide array of critical issues affecting Transylvania County, and the leadership skills necessary to motivate and engage others in collaborative efforts to resolve them.

Participants will gain insight into new skills and values of community leadership, including:

• Develop a leadership pool of informed, involved and committed citizens
• Enhance communication and interaction among participants to form a network for cooperative community trusteeship
• Experience and understand the diversity of leadership decision-making styles and processes
• Explore issues facing Transylvania County, to gain insight on how to formulate solutions and to encourage the team approach to solving community problems and visioning the future; and, Instill a belief that local and regional knowledge and cooperation are critical elements in causing change and moving the community forward
• Vision Transylvania has been designed to empower citizens to become trustees of the community and to learn how to envision what this community can become – together. The ultimate goal is to work for a better Transylvania County by developing the skills and community knowledge of both current and future leaders. Vision sincerely believes that people, working together, have the power to create positive change
