Unlock your organization's potential

Andrew Tate, President of Henderson County Psrtnership for Economic Development, leads an employer group discussion

We are your business development resource.

Blue Ridge Community College leads economic development efforts in Henderson & Transylvania Counties through partnerships to deliver comprehensive assistance for attracting and locating new business and industry to our area as well as fostering existing business and industry growth.

Blue Ridge Community College has and continues to partner with numerous organizations in delivering quality professional training and development.

For example:

When UPM Raflatac - a Finnish-owned company and the world's largest producer of pressure sensitive label stock - decided to locate a facility to manufacture its newest technology, Radio Frequency Identification Device imbedded tags and inlays , Blue Ridge Community College was there to provide high quality training and development activities including WorkKeys profiling through a New & Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) project to ensure their success.

As well, Blue Ridge Community College partnered with Elkamet Inc. - a German manufacturer - when it chose Henderson County as its first North American production site for the manufacture of nylon tanks and tank assemblies for the construction and automotive industries. This partnership resulted in a New & Expanding Industry Training (NEIT) project . Blue Ridge Community College and the Henderson County JobLink Career Center collaborated to realize the project's full potential - which included a thorough planning process (including trips to Germany for WorkKeys profiling, creation of a technical operator manual ,and a company recruitment and technical training video) of recruiting, screening, assessing, interviewing, and training (pre-hire and post-hire) of the personnel to man the new facility.

How can your organization tap into these valuable resources?
Is your organization:

  • Making an appreciable capital investment;
  • Deploying new technology;
  • Creating jobs, expanding an existing workforce or enhancing the productivity and profitability of the operations within NC; and/ or,
  • Enhancing the skills of your employees.

If so, your organization may be eligible for a Customized Training Project that could assist you with a multitude of quality training & development opportunities to deter employee training costs.
