EMT-Paramedic - August 19, 2010 -- Henderson County Campus
The paramedic class is an intensive 24 month program that will take NC credentialed EMT-B students through didactic and clinical components to prepare for NC EMT-P test. Graduates will be awarded a Certificate of Completion. Class will meet Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 1800-2200, some Saturdays from 0800-1700 and at various clinical sites in the area. Interested students must have successfully completed Anatomy and Physiology 3000 or complete Anatomy and Physiology 3000 before the end of the first semester to remain in the program. Pre-registration is required.

The schedule will be distributed the first day of class. This is an intensive class and requires students to devote full attention to class and homework assignments and to maintain an average of 85 to be eligible to take the State test.

This is an intensive class and requires students to devote full attention to class and homework assignments and to maintain an average of 85 to be eligible to take the State test.

This class begins August 18, 2010 and will meet Monday and Wednesday evenings from 1800-2200 and some Saturdays from 0800-1700. The schedule will be distributed at the first class session. This is an intensive class that requires students to devote full attention to class and homework assignments and to maintain an average of 85 to be eligible to take the State exam.

EMT - Intermediate Henderson County Campus - Day Class
This class begins on September 20, 2010 and will meet Monday through Friday from 0800-1700 and will end on December 7, 2010. This course must follow the guidelines established by the NC Office of EMS. The curriculum for the EMT-Intermediate educational program shall be objectives identified from the 1998 Release of the US Department of Transportation (US DOT) National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) EMT-Paramedic Course: National Standard Curriculum.
Student prerequisites:
1. Successful completion of an EMT- Basic course
2. High school diploma or general education development (GED)
3. Successful completion of an entrance exam assessing basic reading comprehension and English skills at a minimum at the post-secondary grade level
4. Demonstration of math skills at a minimum at the high school grade level

American Heart Association Core Instructor Course - Transylvania County Campus
This class will begin at 0800 , September 2, 2010 in Rm TRCS 149. The class is designed for anyone interested in obtaining instructor certification for ACLS, PALS, BLS and for current instructors needing an update class.

Anatomy and Physiology 3000 Online
This class provides a foundation of knowledge in human anatomy and physiology, exploring the structures, functions and interrelationships of body systems. Thorough knowledge of normal human anatomy and physiology is essential to further studies in emergency medicine. This is an online class that challenges students through reading assignments, research papers, discussion forums and knowledge evaluations. BRCC is offering the next class beginning September 1, 2010 and completing November 20, 2010. Pre-registration is required. Please call 694-1655 for further information or to pre-register.

Henderson County EMT-Basic On-line Inservice 2010
This class begins January 5 and runs throughout the year with monthly EMT con-ed topics. 3 hours con-ed credit is awarded for each month successfully completed. Contact Continuing Education Office to begin registration.
