Nurse Aide
Information sessions and TABE testing:
Required before registration
These sessions are held in the Bo Thomas Auditorium on the Henderson County Campus at 9 am, plan for about two hours. The session is mandatory, it is the only way to obtain registration materials and information necessary to help you get registered. If you are applying to the NAI program you will take a reading test on this day also. Registrations: First come basis. Minimum 7 students to class, maximum 15 students. Class schedule given at information session.

- December 8,2011- 9:00am- 1:00 pm

Nurse Aide Orientation:
This is a mandatory 8 hour class that you will take before beginning your NAI class. It incorporates the Career Readiness Certificate exam and is offered at different dates and times. You will register for this when you register for your class.

Nurse Aide I
This course prepares graduates to provide personal care and perform basic nursing skills for the elderly and other adults
(please see requirements listed below).
Nurse Aide II
This course teaches complex skills such as oxygen therapy, catheterization, and nasogastric and gastrostomy feeding procedures

Nurse Aide III( Refresher class for CNA I )
This refresher course is designed for individuals who have had a previous listing on a Nurse Aide Registry.
Medication Aide
This course is designed to meet the training requirements for becoming qualified to be a Medication Aide. You must be a licensed CNA I to be listed on the registry and to be employed as a medication aide.

Classes offered at the Henderson County Campus (Flat Rock) and the Transylvania County Campus (Brevard) , days and evenings.

Requirements:
- Criminal Background Check (required for NA I and NA II)
- Rubella
- Hepatitis B ( or sign waiver)
- TB (within 6 months)
- Tetanus
- A current government issued picture identification and a signed Social Security card (the names must match on these two forms of identification)

There are a limited number of scholarships available (applications will be available at the information session).
