The Celebration of Women in the Arts was created to honor women artists by celebrating their creativity and imagination and their diverse contributions to the cultural life of our community. The Celebration includes an exhibition of visual art in the Patton Building Room 150 from 9:00am to 9:00pm as well as a presentation at 7:30pm in the adjacent auditorium. This event is scheduled on the last Thursday in March, Women's History Month.
The exhibit includes works from a range of media, including sculpture, painting, fiber figures, wooden furniture, jewelry, photography, ceramic art, handwoven pieces, and gourd art.
The evening presentation may include a variety of art forms such as instrumental and vocal music, dance, theater, mime, performance poetry and puppetry or may be the screening of a film. Seating at the performance will be available on a first come, first served basis. Admission is free.
