The Environmental Health and Safety Management Certificate Program is a 96-hour program designed for individuals who are responsible for environmental and/or safety compliance of their facility or for persons who wish to move into such a position. While not a degree, earning this certificate illustrates your dedication to becoming more knowledgeable in the EH&S field and valuable to your organization. Individuals will study requirements of OSHA, EPA, NCDENR, DOT and ISO and learn to manage their personnel and facilities in pursuit of compliance/conformance with these standards. Students will complete the program in two semesters, one night per week.

Text is required and is to be purchased at Blue Ridge Community College Bookstore. List will be provided at the first class.

Satisfactory Completion Requirements:
Satisfactory completion of the EHSM Certificate Program requires at least 90% attendance and a score of 70% or better on all tests. Each separate certificate has additional specific requirements.

Upon successful completion, students will be awarded a certificate for the program, as well as separate certificates within the program covering OSHA 10 Hour for Construction, DOT Hazardous Materials Awareness, ISO 14000 Awareness, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 30 Hour for General Industry and 24 Hour Hazardous Materials Technician.

Successful completion of this program will assist you in preparation for the following national exams:

CHCM, CHMM*, REM and RET*

*Offered at Blue Ridge Community College at the end of the program.
