Defensive Driving Courses
Blue Ridge Community College offers the following Defensive Driving Courses on the Henderson County Campus:
Alive @ 25- 4 Hour Teen Driver:
This course shows young drivers how to take greater responsibility for their driving behavior.
- Offered every other month
- Cost: $65
DDC 4 (four-hour):
This course demonstrates the consequences of poor choices that drivers make behind the wheel, putting defensive driving into personal context.
- Offered every week (except Holidays) on Saturdays; 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Offered Select Saturdays; 12:30 to 4:30 p.m.
- Offered Thursdays twice a month; 6 to 10 p.m.
- Cost: $65
DDC – 8 Hour - Attitudinal Dynamics of Driving (eight-hour):
This course addresses the attitudes of problem drivers to change their driving behaviors. Participants learn the choices they make have financial, legal and personal consequences.
- Offered Saturdays twice a month; 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Cost: $100
If you live in Henderson or Transylvania Counties, registration for Defensive Driving courses must be completed in person. If you live outside of Henderson or Transylvania Counties, you may request a registration packet (4hr, 8hr or Alive @ 25) be emailed to you. We cannot complete registrations by phone. Payment for course (cash, money order, or certified checks will be accepted; no personal checks; no credit cards)
Classes are offered in the Henderson Campus only.
Persons under 18 who have not completed high school (except for Henderson and Transylvania County Public School Students) are required to obtain an “Application for Enrollment in Off-Campus Courses” from their school principal to attend a class on a college campus.
