Emergency Vehicle Driver (20 hours)
This course deals with the safe operation of emergency vehicles, driving skills, legal implications of emergency driving and departmental standard operating procedures. This course is a stand-alone certification and is also a prerequisite to Driver Operator certification by the North Carolina Fire Rescue Commission. Departments sending students to this course should bring a truck from their department. This class will meet Friday from 6:00-10:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

EMS Cyclist (Mountain Bike Rescue) (20 hours)
This course will teach the EMS student to handle the different types of emergencies that may be encountered by a cyclist in an event where medical cycles are used. It will also combine the SAR hasty search segment with the use of mountain bikes. Students shall supply the following: mountain bike, hydration pack, search pack (light weight), eye protection, helmet, gloves (biking), proper biking attire, packed lunch (Sat. and Sun.). This class will meet Friday from 6:00-10:00 p.m. (on campus), Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (will be a skill set event with a long ride in Dupont State Forest utilizing search skills), and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. (will incorporate all skills in a live search).

Fire Alarm & Communications (15 hours)
This course will allow for the student to complete objectives related to fire alarms and communications for Firefighter I and II. This course will introduce the student to the use of communication equipment and procedures for receiving and transmitting multiple alarms and the actions required upon receipt of these alarms. This class will meet Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Fire Behavior I & II (9 hours)
This course will allow the student to complete the objectives related to fire behavior for Firefighter I and II. This class will meet Friday from 7:00-10:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.

Fire Department Orientation & Safety (21 hours)
This course will enable the firefighter to become aware of the advanced operations of the department and understand their position in the organization from a more detailed perspective. Course topics will also include a review of advanced safety regulations and the firefighter's responsibility to comply with those regulations and a review of the elements of an advanced departmental safety program and the advanced hazards related to fire protection.
Students shall provide firefighter PPE to include Turn-Out gear, an SCBA and one spare bottle. This class will meet Friday from 6:00-10:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Firefighting, Introduction (12 hours)
This course will introduce individuals to dangers, equipment, and procedures used in the fire service. Course is recommended for new or junior firefighters.
Students shall provide firefighter PPE to include Turn-Out gear, an SCBA and one spare bottle. This class will meet Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Fire Hose, Streams & Appliances (21 hours)
This course will train the student in all objectives related to fire hose, appliances, and streams in compliance with Firefighter Levels I and II.
Students shall provide firefighter PPE to include Turn-Out gear, an SCBA and one spare bottle. This class will meet Friday from 6:00-10:00 p.m., Saturday from 8:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Foam Fire Streams (6 hours)
This course will detail all objectives related to use of foam as it relates to fire streams for Firefighter I and II.
This class will meet Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.

Forcible Entry (12 hours)
This course will cover all the related objectives to the subject of forcible entry for Firefighter Levels I and II. Students shall provide firefighter PPE to include Turn-Out gear.
This class will meet Saturday from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m., and Sunday from 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
