Molly A. Parkhill, Ed.D.
Dr. Molly A. Parkhill was named the College’s third president in 2007.
Prior to being named president, she served for 21 years in various roles at the College including JTPA Planner, director of the cooperative education program, associate dean for Transylvania programs, and nine years as dean for continuing education.
Dr. Parkhill holds a doctorate degree from Clemson University in vocational and technical education along with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work from Ohio State University.
She was recognized in 2006 as the North Carolina Community College System and BB & T Corporation Staff Person of the Year.
Alan H. Stephenson, Ph.D.
Vice President for Instruction
Dr. Stephenson joined Blue Ridge in 2010 and serves as the College's chief academic officer.
Prior to joining Blue Ridge, he served as dean for arts and sciences at Edgecombe Community College.
Dr. Stephenson holds a master's degree from Auburn University and a Ph.D. from East Carolina University.
Julie G. Thompson
Vice President for Economic and Workforce Development/Continuing Education
Ms. Thompson joined Blue Ridge in 1979 and has held various roles including career counselor, Cooperative Education Director, and JobLink Career Center Director. She was named Vice President in 2011 and is responsible for NCWorks Centers, Work-Based Learning, Small Business Center, Corporate & Customized Training, Occupational Training, Law Enforcement, Allied Health, Emergency Services, Environmental Health and Safety Institute, Outreach, and Personal Enrichment.
Thompson holds a bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a master's degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Marcia L. Stoneman
Vice President for Student Services
Ms. Stoneman joined Blue Ridge in 1979 and has held various roles in Student Services. She was named Vice President in 2010 and is responsible for counseling, student activities, registrar, financial aid, and enrollment management.
Stoneman holds a bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a master's degree from Western Carolina University.
R. Chad Merrill, Ed.D.
Vice President for General Administration
Dr. Merrill joined Blue Ridge in 1996 and is responsible for event management; human resources; facilities; safety and security; marketing and communications; media services; learning technologies; information technology; and planning, research, and institutional effectiveness.
Prior to his current position, he served as Cooperative Education Director, Dean for Transylvania Programs, and Chief of Staff.
Merrill holds a bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Asheville and master's and doctorate degrees from Western Carolina University.
Carolyn W. Alley
Associate Vice President for Finance/CFO
Ms. Alley was named Associate Vice President in July 2015. As the Chief Financial Officer of the College, Alley is primarily responsible for the fiscal resources of the College and oversees business services and auxiliary services.
Alley earned her bachelor's degree from University of North Carolina at Asheville and is a graduate of the North Carolina Community College Leadership Program.
Glenda H. McCarson
Associate Vice President for Transylvania County Campus
Ms. McCarson was named Associate Vice President in July 2015. She manages all functions pertaining to the Transylvania County Campus including development and coordination of instructional programs and personnel, student and administrative services, business and administrative services, and facility management.
McCarson earned her bachelor's degree from Montreat College and a master's degree in Educational Administration of Community Colleges from Western Carolina University. She is a graduate of the North Carolina Community College Leadership Program.
Ann F. Green
Executive Director, Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation
Ms. Green joined Blue Ridge in 1990 and serves as executive director of Blue Ridge Community College Educational Foundation, Inc.
Prior to being named Executive Director in 1999, she served in several support functions with the Educational Foundation.
Green holds a bachelor's degree from Mars Hill University and is a graduate of the North Carolina Community College Leadership Program and Vision Henderson County.
