Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series will feature pianist Andrew Parr on Tuesday, March 28
(Flat Rock, NC - March 13, 2017) The Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series will feature pianist Andrew Parr on Tuesday, March 28 at 7:30 P.M. in Thomas Auditorium. The program will include works by Brahms, Chopin, and Albéniz.
Andrew Parr is Professor of Piano at Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, TX. A native of northeast Ohio, he holds degrees from Kent State University and Yale University; as a Fulbright Scholar, he also studied at theHochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst in Vienna, Austria. Dr. Parr has performed extensively in solo, chamber, and concerto settings, and has presented recitals and master classes internationally, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Serbia and Italy. In 2015, he helped to create the First International Piano Camp in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. A highly respected and award-winning educator, Dr. Parr maintains a studio of internationally recruited pianists.
Admission to the concert is $10, payable at the door; admission for all students is only $5. All concerts feature open (non-reserved) seating. Proceeds benefit the college's Personal Enrichment Program. Thomas Auditorium is located in the Sink Building on BRCC’s Henderson County campus.
