Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series will feature pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky

Flat Rock, NC (March 8, 2016) - The Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series will feature pianist Kirill Gliadkovsky on Tuesday, March 22 at 7:30 P.M. in Thomas Auditorium. The program will feature works by Bach, Schumann, Liszt, and Brahms.
Kirill Gliadkovsky's performances have been met with great enthusiasm by audiences and music critics in Europe, Russia, the Far East, and North America. Born in Moscow and making his first public appearance at the age of 6, Dr. Gliadkovsky attended the Tchaikovsky Conservatory, then earned both his Master’s and Doctor of Musical Arts degrees at the University of Southern California. His tours have taken him to many prestigious recital halls in Russia, as well as Italy, Great Britain, Poland, Mongolia, Canada, Japan, and throughout the United States. He has won numerous prizes at international piano competitions, and has performed at such music festivals as Aspen, Ventura, Music in the Mountains, and Redlands Bowl in the United States, and the Credomatic Festival in Costa Rica.
Dr. Gliadkovsky has recorded six CDs, and has been featured in live TV and radio broadcasts on such networks as NPR, CBS, PBS, CBC, WQXR, KBYU, KPAC, and Russian State TV and Radio. He is an orchestra and choral conductor, as well as a harpsichordist, and was the music director and organist at Westwood Hills Christian Church in Los Angeles for ten years. Additionally, he has toured extensively as a family piano team with his wife, concert pianist Anna Gliadkovskaya, and daughters, Anastasia and Sophia. Dr. Gliadkovsky is currently Director of Keyboard Studies at Saddleback College in Mission Viejo, California.
Admission to the concert is $10, payable at the door; admission for all students is $5. All concerts feature open (non-reserved) seating. Proceeds benefit the college's Personal Enrichment Program.
