Regional Articulation in Vocational Education (R.A.V.E) Credit
Blue Ridge Community College will grant advanced placement credit to high school graduates for successful completion of certain high school courses taken at the junior and senior level. High school students can obtain the appropriate forms from their high school guidance counselor.
This credit expires two years after the student graduates from high school. The requirements for each course include:
- High school students must have obtained an average of "B" or higher in the course and score a level of proficiency on the EOC exam.
- The high school student must be recommended in writing by the teacher of the course for which advanced placement is requested.
- Course objectives, competencies, tasks, and evaluated proficiency levels of the college course must be met by the high school course.
Blue Ridge programs eligible for advanced placement credit include: Automotive Systems Technology, Business Administration, Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, Office Systems Technology, Cosmetology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electronics Engineering Technology, Health Unit Coordinator, Horticulture
