Blue Ridge Community College follows an "open door" admissions policy which means admission requirements are minimal.  The basic steps for becoming an officially enrolled student in a degree, diploma, or certificate program include:

  1. complete the Blue Ridge Community College Admissions Application; or Returning Student Application
     
  2. have official copies of High School, GED, Adult High School, and College Transcripts mailed to the Registrar's Office;
     
  3. take the Pre-enrollment Placement Test, if necessary;
     
  4. meet with your faculty advisor to select courses;
     
  5. register online via WebAdvisor*;
     
  6. pay tuition and fees;
     
  7. purchase books and supplies; and
     
  8. attend a New Student Orientation session on registration day. 
    (online students also need to attend a distance learning orientation)

Allied Health programs have additional admissions requirements.  These programs include:

  • Associate Degree Nursing
  • Surgical Technology

*Special credit (non-degree) students are not required to provide transcripts or take the Pre-enrollment Placement Test unless taking courses with English or math prerequisites.
