Educational Assistance for Veterans and/or Dependents of Veterans

Most curriculum programs offered by the College are approved for the training of veterans.  Eligible veterans and/or their eligible dependents who wish to pursue their education should contact the Financial Aid Office for application procedures and assistance.

 
Application for Veterans Benefits

To apply for benefits, the veteran must be a fully accepted student in approved curriculum program.  Students eligible for veterans benefits should follow the procedures outlined below.

  • Select a program and apply for admission to the College.  All admission requirements  must be completed before applilcation for veterans benefits can be processed.  This includes the submission and evaluation of all transcripts.
  • Notify the Financial Aid Office of your intent to apply for veterans benefits.  The following document is required to apply:
     

Eligible dependent children of veterans may apply directly for benefits through the county veterans service office or through the Financial Aid Office.

  • Contact the Financial Aid Office after  you have completed registration to ensure that all DVA documents and enrollment data are correct.

Diabled veterans attending under Vocational Rehabilitation must have the approval of a counselor at the DVA before payment of benefits may be authorized.

Members of the Selected Reserve and National Guard may be eligible under Chapter 1606 or 1607 to receive benefits while attending the College.

Interruption of Veterans Benefits  In order to maintain veteran's assistance, a student must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress.  For more details on Satisfactory Academic Progress click here.
Students Receiving DVA Benefits Change of Status  Benefit recipients must immediately notify the Financial Aid Office of any changes that may affect their pay status.  Such changes include changes of program, changes of hours, or changes of address.  All necessary forms, instructions and assistance for notifying the Department of Veterans Affairs of changes in  your status may be obtained through the Financial Aid Office
