Morgan Shehan
Morgan Shehan considered many options when she and her friends at East Henderson High School were choosing what college to attend after graduation. For a long time, Morgan had her mind set on going away to a four-year university. It wasn’t until her senior year in high school that she changed her mind. She and her parents began comparing the costs of attending a four-year university versus attending Blue Ridge Community College. It became clear Blue Ridge was a much more reasonable choice.
Earning a college degree means so much to Morgan. She will be the first person in her family to have a college degree. Both of her parents started college but became so overwhelmed with working, paying for school, and keeping up with their school work that they had to drop out.
Morgan will receive her associate degree in business administration in May 2011 and is seriously considering pursuing a bachelor’s degree and a career in health administration. Morgan knows a degree is something that can never be taken away from her and she will be able to further her career and her life much more with it.
