For as long as she could remember, Dana Patterson had cared for people. She was a single mother caring for three children and a nurse aide at the local hospital. After experiencing a serious bout with skin cancer, Dana found a new way to care for people.

When Josie Medrano made the decision to attend Blue Ridge Community College in 2006, she knew she wanted to study Business Administration Program but wasn't sure how to navigate through the college experience. With the assistance of caring and helpful faculty, Josie not only navigated through the process, but she received the James G. Finch Rotary Scholarship Award at her graduation in 2009.
