Healthy Home Environment
Improving the energy efficiency of our homes as well as the indoor environmental conditions is important for comfort, health, and safety, and home value. Unhealthy home environments where mold and mildew are present or toxic fumes are generated can contribute to a higher incidence of asthma and allergic reactions including respiratory and skin rashes. A basic understanding of the indoor environment you have created is imperative in order to prevent or correct unhealthy environmental issues. This course would be beneficial for a prospective home buyer, someone newly moved into a different home, someone with known health issues, or a homeowner looking to improve indoor air quality.

Home Energy Audit
Home energy use is one of your biggest direct energy consumption expenses and also has major environmental impacts. Understanding the ways energy is used in the home is essential in order to prevent or correct excessive energy consumption and the resulting issues of comfort, utility bills, sustainability, environmental impacts, and home value. Included will be the major energy use components of a house, how to identify common energy overuse and waste problems, and the proper way to fix these problems.

Home Heating/Cooling Systems
This is not only your home’s circulatory and respiratory system, but also its greatest energy user. A basic understanding of the central air system is imperative in order to prevent or correct indoor home environmental issues of comfort, health, safety, maintenance, energy consumption, and home value.Discussion will include how to identify common problems as well as how to fix them.
