Blue Ridge's College Transfer Program allows the student to complete up to two years of course work for a baccalaureate (Bachelor's) degree. A wide variety of college transfer courses satisfies general education requirements at senior institutions in North Carolina and across the United States, and enables the student to transfer as a junior to University of North Carolina System colleges and universitires and certain private colleges and universities after acceptance at the four-year university.

TOP REASONS TO CHOOSE BLUE RIDGE COMMUNITY COLLEGE
FOR YOUR FIRST 2 YEARS OF COLLEGE:

BROADEN YOUR HORIZONS

Here at Blue Ridge college transfer students choose courses from within a variety of academic disciplines. Because they gain exposure to ideas and fields of study that they might otherwise avoid, students often are pleasantly surprised by how much they enjoy and want to pursue study in areas they thought they would dislike.

LEARN FROM CARING INSTRUCTORS IN SMALL CLASSES

Here at Blue Ridge you are a person, not a number. Our faculty is not only qualified and knowledgeable in their subject area, but they are genuinely concerned about student success. Our primary focus at Blue Ridge is in helping students master the new skills and new knowledge needed in order to achieve their goals. Typically, our classes here at Blue Ridge are small. Rarely do seated classes have more than 30 students, and often no more than 15 - 20. This is very different in most major universities where lecture classes often occur in an auditorium with 300 other students.

TRANSFER AS A JUNIOR AND SAVE MONEY

Under the NC Articulation Agreement for Community Colleges, college transfer students who complete the Associate in Arts (A.A.) or Associate in Science (A.S.) degrees from a NC Community College can transfer into NC state institutions (and a number of private institutions) as juniors, as long as they meet all other admissions requirements. Your first two years will be a bargain as you pay the modest tuition of Blue Ridge Community College.

HAVE SOME FUN!

Our students are from widely diverse backgrounds and range in age from 15 to 87, with the average age being 26. This kind of variety of knowledge and experience within the classroom makes for an exciting atmosphere. As well, there are campus-wide student activities and a number of student clubs and honor societies just like on any other college campus.

USE THE MOST UP-TO-DATE TECHNOLOGY

Our well-equipped computer labs and digital media opportunities give our students the edge on emerging technologies. Also, we have classes available on line, as hybrid classes, or with an online presence.

HAVE SOMETHING TO SHOW FOR YOUR EFFORT

You can leave Blue Ridge Community College with a degree -- the Associate in Arts, the Associate in Science, or the Associate in Fine Arts -- and a diploma. Employers and colleges alike recognize that students who finish degrees are serious about their education and determined to complete what they start.

MAKE FRIENDS AND NETWORKING CONNECTIONS

Blue Ridge Community College students get to know each other. Often the kind of relationships formed here end up being a help to a student's long-term career goals.

FIND SECOND CHANCES AND NEW BEGINNINGS

Blue Ridge Community College IS the place for New Beginnings. Students who have previous struggled with school, or those who seek new challenges and new careers often come to realize their gifts and talents in our small, caring environment.
