is NOW Webmail @ google
Basic Instructions
Google Apps for Education is a tool offered to educational institutions providing email accounts, and other services. BRCC is utilizing this service in order to standardize student email addresses. There is no backup provided, so please be sure to save any important emails. Email accounts may be removed after the semester. Instructors will use Google (still known as "webmail" so previous users will use their same webmail address) as the primary email address to contact online students, so please check your email frequently.
For BRCC Google Support - e-mail helpdesk@blueridge.edu Please type "Google Help" in the email subject textbox.
As of Fall 2010, your Webmail account should be accessed and set up from the MOODLE login page at
http://moodle.blueridge.edu
After
you login to Moodle and change your password, you can access your webmail account without logging in again.
Click this link
to see complete instructions with screen shots for the new login process. The short version is below.
1. Sign-in to Moodle - Type your e-mail username and your Colleague Student ID number with a leading zero (e.g., if your ID Number is 0123456, your password would be 00123456).
2. Change your Password (this will change Moodle and Webmail). At the password change screen RETYPE your CURRENT password (above) and choose a new password. Your new password should be 8 characters long and contain at least two numbers and two lowercase letters.
For best performance, please make your password change in the Firefox browser. If you don't have the Firefox browser, you may
to download and install it for free.
If you registered early, you should have received a post card giving you your username and password. If you need to find that information, please follow the steps in this tutorial:

After you change your password, you will be on your Moodle Profile page. Click the "Edit My Profile" tab and either correct your location, or type something in the description box. Click the "Update" button at the bottom of the page to save your changes. Completing this step will ensure that you will be able to successfully connect your Moodle account to your Webmail account in the steps below. If you do not do this step, you may see an "invalid email" error when you attempt to set up Webmail.
3. At the Verification screen for Webmail - first time users must agree to the terms and provide verification. Characters will change for each user.
4. Read the Terms of Service and click the "I Accept" button to create your account
From here you can return to the MOODLE login page and click the REFRESH ACCESS TOKEN to access your BRCC Webmail.
Please be aware there is a 20 MB per file limit in this email program. Email is housed on a google server, so be sure to keep copies of important emails or documents on your hard drive or thumb drive.
