Blue Ridge Community College moves Music by the Lake series to late summer

Every summer, Blue Ridge Community College offers a free, outdoor musical concert series beside the College’s lake called Music by the Lake, and this year – aside from the dates – is no different.

The series normally begins in May, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first concert begins July 12.

This year’s featured musical artists appear in the following order: the Apple Country String Band, July 12; Tom Fisch, July 26; Pretty Little Goat, Aug. 16; Tuxedo Junction Band, Aug. 30; and Nick Chandler & Delivered, Sept. 27.

“I’m excited to announce that our Music by the Lake series will be starting this July,” stated event organizer M.C. Gaylord. “The musical lineup will include folk, rock, and bluegrass, so we hope you’ll join us with chairs and picnics in hand for the best free entertainment in town.”

Music by the Lake is a gift to the community that takes place from 5-7 p.m. featuring a wide range of musical and vocal groups. The public is always invited to bring lawn chairs and picnic food to enjoy at the event. In an effort to promote safe participation, all recommended CDC measures will be followed at these events.

Whether you’re a fan of bluegrass, folk, cover music, or blues, be sure to stop by this free concert series this summer.
