VISION Transylvania Now Accepting Applications for 2021-2022 Class

VISION Transylvania is a community leadership development program committed to building a network of informed, capable, and committed leaders. The application period for individuals wishing to join VISION Transylvania’s 2021-2022 class opens on March 3.

This will be the 26th class of VISION Transylvania, a program offered by Blue Ridge Community College. More than 700 graduates have completed the program thus far and now serve in public service, non-profits, small businesses, large corporations, and a host of community volunteer opportunities.

The program runs August through May and includes monthly classes focused on developing leadership skills and learning about Transylvania County, its resources, as well as its challenges. Each month, participants meet for an eight-hour immersion into Transylvania County’s history, social services, healthcare and human services network, educational institutions, public service offerings, governmental structure, public safety resources, industry and economic development, culture and arts, and environmental and natural resources. Paired with this community education are enrichment activities to enhance leadership skills, equipping class members to use their skills and passions to strengthen the county.

“The impact of VISION can be seen in the many leaders who have participated in the program and now serve across Transylvania County and beyond. We look forward to this 26th year of the program continuing the legacy of leadership that so richly defines VISION Transylvania,” said Glenda McCarson, Associate Vice President of Blue Ridge Community College, Transylvania County campus, and VISION Transylvania Board of Directors Vice President.

With a limited class size of 20, the class fills up quickly. It is recommended that interested individuals complete and submit the application as soon as possible. The application for the class is available on the website VISIONTC.org
