Blue Ridge Community College is now accepting applications for its 2022 associate degree nursing program. Applications will be accepted through Feb. 1, 2022. To apply, prospective students should visit blueridge.edu/associate-degree-nursing for specific requirements and steps to apply for the program. Financial assistance is available to qualified candidates.
Graduates of the program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX-RN) to become a registered nurse. Classes are taught at the Health Sciences Center in Hendersonville and the Transylvania County Campus in Brevard. Additionally, Blue Ridge has partnerships with four-year universities to support academic progression for nursing students to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
“A nurse is a valuable resource in any community and especially now when healthcare is in crisis and nurses are needed more than ever,” said Deborah Henry, Ph.D., RN, Blue Ridge’s director of nursing. “Our program supplies the community with nurses and, equally important, supplies community members with the opportunity to become registered nurses. Access to high-quality nursing education begins a meaningful employment trajectory that will impact students’ lives and could fulfill a life-long goal of service to people in their communities and beyond.”
