On Feb. 9, Blue Ridge Community College announced the release of its 2022-23 annual report (PDF) titled “Momentum – A Year in Motion.” The latest report includes information about the College’s new and growing programs, student experiences, financial and donor information, awards and other key successes in serving the Western North Carolina community.
Presented by the office of Blue Ridge’s president, Dr. Laura B. Leatherwood, the momentum-themed report follows a season of historic year-over-year enrollment and graduation figures. It also discusses the addition of several programs critical to strengthening the state and regional workforce, including artificial intelligence, civil engineering technology, environmental engineering technology, medical office administration, practical nursing, respiratory therapy, entrepreneurship and the elementary education residency certificate.
“You will find evidence of this [momentum] in the pages to come as we share the many compelling ways that Blue Ridge faculty, staff and students, as well as our incredible industry partners and donors, have leaned in and accelerated towards lasting solutions to the dynamic workforce challenges faced by our region,” wrote Dr. Leatherwood in the report’s introduction.
The new report also includes a statement from the executive director of Blue Ridge’s Educational Foundation, Trina Stokes, as she credits community supporters and donors for their role in Blue Ridge’s record-breaking year of performance.
“Through generous contributions, we have witnessed incredible growth gained by our students and College,” she wrote. “Our supporters – you – are the backbone of our efforts, allowing us to plan strategically for the future, invest in cutting-edge technologies and attract and retain top-notch faculty who mentor students each day.”
