With fall semester classes starting on August 15, Blue Ridge Community College will offer in-person registration assistance on both its Henderson and Transylvania County campuses on Wednesday, Aug. 14, during the extended hours of 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The enrollment events will take place in the Sink Building of the Henderson County Campus and the Straus Building of the Transylvania County Campus. Blue Ridge staff will assist new and returning students with course registration and applications for admission or financial aid, as needed. Online and printable applications are available at www.blueridge.edu/admissions.
“There’s still time to start your education journey this fall at Blue Ridge,” explained Kirsten Bunch, the College’s vice president for student services. “We understand that students and families may have questions and want face-to-face assistance with getting started. That’s why our team is providing extra time for these conversations in both Henderson and Transylvania counties.”
Alongside the August 15 semester start, 8-week accelerated Short Courses sessions will begin on both August 15 and October 14. These course options provide students with added flexibility through an abbreviated classroom or online experience, allowing them to earn full credit in half the time. Short Courses are popular among students working to catch-up or get ahead on their studies, and fall offerings are listed at www.blueridge.edu/short-courses.
This year, Blue Ridge added several new programs to its lineup of more than 200 degrees, diplomas and certificates. These include practical nursing, civil engineering technology, environmental engineering technology, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, elementary education residency and medical office administration. Blue Ridge’s Transylvania County Campus will also offer respiratory therapy for the first time this fall in partnership with Southwestern Community College. The full program list is online at www.blueridge.edu/programs.
Blue Ridge Community College offers a wide range of financial aid assistance programs, including Pell Grants, scholarships, payment plans and North Carolina’s new Next NC Scholarship, which could fully fund tuition for many Blue Ridge students. New students can visit www.blueridge.edu/admissions to begin the enrollment process. Additionally, admissions staff may be reached by phone at 828-694-1800 or by texting 828-600-4876.
