This month, Blue Ridge Community College proudly presents its 2023-2024 annual report (PDF). The report includes highlights from a historic year for the College and community, as well as important enrollment, financial, donor, and workforce development information.

The newest report features impactful stories of recent graduates who reached their academic and professional goals thanks to their Blue Ridge education. Following Hurricane Helene, these stories of success and resilience hold even more value for our students and community at-large.

“This annual report tells the story of the critical instruction that takes place at Blue Ridge – an education that strengthens and protects our community,” wrote Blue Ridge President Dr. Laura B. Leatherwood in the report’s introduction. “As Blue Ridge continues to provide a foundation for long-term recovery, we’ll also identify and fortify programs that will build resiliency throughout Western North Carolina and beyond. Our mission is more important than ever before. It is a privilege and an honor to equip our students to not only build their futures, but to rebuild communities.”

The new report also includes a joint statement from the executive director of Blue Ridge’s Educational Foundation, Trina Stokes, and Educational Foundation President Thomas F. Murrill. They emphasized the immediate return on investment that donor support provides to the students and community.

“Our workforce is the backbone of our region’s resilience, and your support ensures students have access to the education they need to make a difference,” they shared. “Each year, thousands of students benefit from Foundation support, from scholarships that cover tuition, books and supplies, to the improvements made to labs and learning spaces, and most recently, disaster relief to keep them on track to graduation. Many of these students are the first in their families to attend college. Many have overcome difficult circumstances to even step onto campus. Your donation gives them the incentive they need to fulfill their dreams.”

The 2023-24 annual report and previous reports are available on the College’s website at www.blueridge.edu/about.

Production of the report was a collaborative effort between the Blue Ridge Community College President’s Office, Marketing & Communications Dept., Educational Foundation, and the Hendersonville-based firm Formation PR + Brand, Inc.
