BREVARD, N.C. – Blue Ridge Community College student and Transylvania County native Haley McCall earned her high school equivalency diploma last year and is now pursuing studies in the healthcare field, with plans to become an MRI technologist.
McCall works full time in a physically demanding, hands-on role, where she has developed a strong work ethic and a commitment to personal and professional growth. Inspired by her experiences on the job, coupled with her recent success in the Adult Education Department, McCall decided to continue her education by enrolling in Blue Ridge Community College’s Curriculum program this fall.
“I would describe myself as a hardworking and motivated person who is determined to build a better future. Transitioning from the high school equivalency program into the curriculum program will require stronger time management and consistency, but I’m ready for the challenge,” said McCall.
The instructors in the Adult Education Department have every confidence in McCall’s ability to succeed and continue to support her as she takes this next step.
“Haley approached every challenge in our Adult Education Program with strength, and determination. I am confident she will continue to push herself, embrace new opportunities, and achieve the next set of goals she has set for herself,” said instructor Danielle Fox.
After completing her education and earning her certification, McCall plans to pursue a career in the healthcare field as an MRI technician. Her goal is to secure a meaningful career focused on helping others while continuing to grow both personally and professionally. McCall is motivated because she wants a stable, successful life which will provide more opportunities for herself and her family. She will be the first in her immediate family to finish college.
