Blue Ridge Community College will host a Health Sciences Job & Education Fair on Thursday, Oct. 8, connecting those preparing for healthcare careers with opportunities to enter the workforce, advance their careers, or continue their education.
The event will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Health Sciences Center, located at 805 6th Avenue West in Hendersonville. The fair is free and open to Health Sciences students, alumni, and members of the community.
Attendees can meet local and regional healthcare employers recruiting for full-time, part-time, and entry-level positions, connect with Blue Ridge Community College representatives, and explore transfer and articulation opportunities with four-year universities. University partners will highlight bachelor’s degree pathways, including Registered Nurse (RN)-to-Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) programs and Bachelor of Health Sciences programs, to help students explore opportunities for continuing their education.
“This fair gives our students an opportunity to turn preparation into action,” said Leigh Angel, dean of health sciences at Blue Ridge Community College. “Whether their next step is entering the workforce, advancing in their current career, or continuing their education, making these connections can be a significant step forward in their professional and educational journey. We are excited to bring these opportunities together in one place through Blue Ridge.”
Featured Health Sciences programs at Blue Ridge will include Nursing, Practical Nursing, Nurse Aide, Medical Assisting, Surgical Technology, and Respiratory Therapy.
For participating employers, the fair provides an opportunity to recruit emerging healthcare professionals, connect with students and alumni, and build relationships with the future healthcare workforce. University partners can share transfer opportunities and help students explore pathways for continuing their education.
“Healthcare offers opportunities for lifelong learning and career growth,” Angel said. “We want students to leave the fair with new connections, valuable information, and a clearer understanding of the possibilities ahead.”
Employers and university partners interested in participating should RSVP to Leigh Angel at la_angel@blueridge.edu. There is no registration fee. Participants should arrive with tables fully set up by 11:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be available.
