New Student Orientation at Blue Ridge Community College
New Student Orientation at Blue Ridge Community College is designed to help you become familiar with the College environment and have a successful start to your educational journey. Our goal is to answer your questions, connect you to campus resources, and help you CAPITALIZE on your college experience at Blue Ridge Community College. All new students enrolling at Blue Ridge Community College are required to complete a new student orientation.
Note: Certain programs that require additional applications (i.e. Associate Degree in Nursing or Career and College Promise) may have a specialized orientation event. Please contact your academic advisor if you are unsure that you need to attend New Student Orientation.
In-Person New Student Orientation
Registration for 2026 New Student Orientation is now open! In-person orientation sessions will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, on both our Henderson County and Transylvania County Campuses. Orientation sessions will take place 9am-11am and 4pm-6pm.

Please note: the Blue Ridge Orientation Course is different from the Student Online Learning Orientation (SOLO) for Canvas. Students in online and/or hybrid classes must also complete this module.
