Silent Book Club

Thursday, November 5, 2026 at 12:00 pm-2:00 pm

Location: Killian Library

Organization: Library Services

You're invited to Silent Book Club at Blue Ridge Community College Library!

Silent Book Club is an international community of people who love to gather together and read. There's no assigned book. All reading formats (physical books, ebooks, audiobooks, textbooks, comic books, etc.) are welcome. Participants are also welcome to spend the hour working on a quiet craft like journaling, sewing, knitting, coloring, or puzzles. The goal of our Silent Book Club chapter is building community and setting aside time for enrichment and low pressure interaction.

A typical SBC meetup in our library will look like this:

12:00pm-12:30pm - People arrive, grab a snack from the cafe, warm up your lunch, get settled
12:30pm-1:30pm - Quiet reading hour
1:30-2:00pm - Optional socializing or head back to the office or class

Our chapter is open to all students, faculty, staff, and community members. We hope to see you there!
