This summer, a fresh line-up of local music returns to Blue Ridge Community College through five public ‘Music by the Lake’ performances. The popular outdoor musical concert series by Blue Ridge’s on-campus lake is offered free to the community. Visitors are invited to bring lawn chairs and picnics to the bluegrass, folk, blues, and cover music events from 5-7 p.m. on June 9, June 23, July 14, July 28 and August 11.

“Blue Ridge Community College is thrilled to once again offer free summer concerts by our lake on the Henderson County Campus, bringing the community together to celebrate local music,” said Benjamin Rickert, Blue Ridge’s marketing and communications director. “Music by the Lake is a wonderful opportunity for neighbors to connect and experience the vibrant talent Western North Carolina has to offer.”

This year’s featured musical artists appear in the following order: Adrianne Blanks & The Oracles (June 9); Asheville Junction (June 23); Nicholas Edward Williams (July 14); The Julie McConnell Quartet (July 28); and Tuxedo Junction (Aug. 11).

Performances will take place on the east side of the College’s Henderson County Campus lake, behind the Technology, Education, and Development Center (TEDC). In the event of inclement weather, the concert will take place inside the TEDC.
