Course Description:

The role of the Phlebotomist is a rewarding and vital part of patient care in the healthcare setting. Learn the process for obtaining, labeling and transporting blood specimens as well as a variety of other tests. Upon successful completion of the course, you will be eligible to sit for the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) Phlebotomy Technician Certification exam. Individuals registering for this course must have current employment in a healthcare role such as a medical assistant, EMT, or non-certified phlebotomist. A letter will be required (on letterhead) from your current employer verifying that you have completed at least 30 successful venipunctures and 10 dermals in your current role.

Enrollment requirements:

1. The student must be 18 years old.

2. IDs required on the first day of class (names must match on both):

a. A Signed Social Security Card (paper card, non-laminated), or letter from Social Security Office stating that card has been requested.

b. Current Driver’s License or government-issued picture ID.

c. High school diploma or GED.

d. The student must have current employment in a healthcare role such as a medical assistant, EMT, or non-certified phlebotomist. A letter will be required (on letterhead) from your current employer verifying that you have completed at least 30 successful venipunctures and 10 dermals in your current role.

3. You will register for the course when you view the course schedule below.

4. A statement will be signed the first day of class to confirm that the student received and reviewed the Student Handbook.
