Commencement is one of our most cherished traditions, one that marks a major milestone for you, your family, and the College faculty and staff who have supported your journey at Blue Ridge Community College.

We are pleased to announce that Blue Ridge Community College will host two in-person commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2024 in the Blue Ridge Conference Hall on the Henderson County Campus on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Ticket Announcement:

Blue Ridge Community College is proud to host its largest commencement ceremonies to date on Saturday, May 11th, 2024 at 9 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Due to the increased responses and number of graduates attending, each graduate will be provided up to a maximum of six guest tickets for both ceremonies.

If additional tickets become available, they will be provided only at Rehearsal on Friday, May 10th, at 1 p.m. in the TEDC Conference Hall.

Overflow seating will be available in the Bo Thomas Auditorium. Guests may watch the ceremony live from the large screen provided on the Bo Thomas Stage.

Graduates may begin picking up tickets with the Registrar’s Office in the Sink Building on the Henderson County Campus April 22nd-May 3rd. Transylvania County students may pick up their tickets from the Transylvania County Campus April 22nd-May 3rd. Distance Learning students may send an email with a plan for picking up their tickets to

Tickets are for ages two and up. Each guest must present with a ticket to the TEDC Conference Hall. Tickets will expire at 8:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. for the respective ceremonies. If seating is available, guests without a ticket may enter the TEDC Conference Hall after those times. If seating is not available, guests with or without tickets will be invited to watch from the Bo Thomas Auditorium.

Application for Graduation

The Application for Graduation deadline for the Spring 2024 semester was January 31, 2024.  Candidates for graduation who have not yet applied and wish to have their credential printed should submit an Application for Graduation as soon as possible to the Registrar’s Office to avoid delays in processing.

Graduate Luncheon:

Friday, May 10, 2024, 12 p.m. 

The Student Government Association invites the class of 2024 to celebrate their achievements with a Graduate Luncheon in the Pre-Event Space of the TEDC Conference Hall on the Henderson County Campus.


Friday, May 10, 2024, 1 p.m.

Rehearsal for the commencement ceremony will be held in the Technology Education and Development Center Conference Hall on the Henderson County Campus. Caps and gowns are not required for rehearsal, but attendance is highly encouraged.


RSVPs to attend/not attend the May 2024 Graduation Ceremonies were due on March 11th. Students who did not submit the RSVP by the deadline are not eligible to cross the stage at this time.

Caps and Gowns

Beginning April 1, students may purchase caps, gowns, and invitations from the Librería universitaria located in the Killian Building. Distance Learning students may order caps, gowns, and invitations by contacting the Bookstore at (828) 694-1720.

Beginning April 1, a limited supply of caps and gowns will be available with the Registrar’s Office on a first-come, first-served basis. These caps and gowns are loaned for free to students with a financial need but must be returned to the Registrar’s Office staff at the end of the morning of the Commencement ceremony. If the borrowed cap and gown are not returned, Blue Ridge Community College reserves the right to withhold the graduate’s diploma and all future transcripts from being released until the cap and gown are returned or replaced. The student is responsible for purchasing the tassel, which is available through the Librería universitaria.

All graduates will have an opportunity immediately following the ceremony to donate your cap and gown to a future Blue Ridge Community College graduate with financial need.

Honor Cords/Stoles

Honor society members (Phi Theta Kappa and National Technical Honor Society) are welcome to wear the honor society regalia of their choice but may wear only one tassel during graduation.
