Success Coaches serve as mentors and work with students throughout their time at Blue Ridge. We will learn about the students’ experiences at Blue Ridge, identify obstacles that may be barriers to their academic success, and help strategize solutions and next-steps. Some of the topics discussed may include:
- Study Strategies: how to effectively study, take notes, and keep organized
- Time Management: how to balance work, school, and other responsibilities
- Self-Awareness: helping students identify their strengths, purpose, and goals
- Campus Engagement and Resources: identifying opportunities and resources on campus and helping students make those connections

Terrell “Tae” received a bachelor’s degree in Global Studies from UNC Chapel Hill. Before coming to Blue Ridge, Tae worked for Henderson County Public Schools, and Children & Family Resource Center supporting children, students, and families. He will bring proven strategies and practices to empower his students to help them reach success. In his free time, Tae enjoys gardening, swimming, listening to music, and spending time with his family.

Crystal earned her bachelor’s degree in Human Services from Gardner-Webb University. After completing her degree, she spent many years working at a nonprofit with adults with developmental disabilities. Most recently, she has served as an academic advisor and success coach at Gardner-Webb where she served adult learners in the degree completion program. Crystal has a passion for adult learners and helping them to reach their personal, academic and career goals. For fun, she enjoys attending music festivals, watching sporting events and spending time with her family.
