Blue Ridge Community College offers a continuing education program for Medical Assistant Entry Level.

This course is designed to teach the basics of the three aspects of Medical Assisting: Clinical, Administrative and Laboratory. Course work includes instruction in scheduling appointments, insurance coding and billing, medical transcription, assisting with examinations/treatments, performing routine laboratory procedures and ethical and legal issues.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to sit for the National Career Association (NHA) Exam. Blue Ridge Community College is an approved NHA test site.

Medical Assistant Prep/Review

Blue Ridge Community College offers a continuing education program for Medical Assistant Prep/Review.

The Medical Assistant Prep Review Program is designed for individuals who have been performing work duties that align with the role of a Medical Assistant in the areas of Administrative, Clinical and Laboratory services. The individual must be working currently or within the past 5 years in this role. The individual must have a minimum of 1-year work experience performing these duties.

This program will prepare the individual to sit for the National CCMA Certification Exam with the National Career Association (NHA) at the end of the program.

The Health Science Center is an approved testing site for the NHA Certification Exams.
