The Blue Ridge Community College Concert Series commences its 26th season with a performance by pianist Kevin Ayesh on Tuesday, September 25 at 7:30 P.M. in Thomas Auditorium. The all-Beethoven program will include the famous Pathetique and Pastorale sonatas. A reception will follow the concert, with cake provided by Chef Dan Knapp of Lake Pointe Landing Retirement Community.
Kevin Ayesh has presented recitals and master classes at colleges and universities throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Europe and Asia. He has been a prizewinner or finalist in several national and international competitions, and has appeared as a concerto soloist with many orchestras in western North Carolina. A former North Carolina Visiting Artist, Dr. Ayesh has been BRCC's Music Instructor since 1992. He received his Bachelor of Music degree with highest honors from the University of Texas; his master’s and doctorate degrees are from the University of Maryland.
Admission to the concert is $10, payable at the door; admission for all students is only $5. All concerts feature open (non-reserved) seating. Proceeds benefit the college's Personal Enrichment Program. Thomas Auditorium is located in the Sink Building on BRCC’s Henderson County campus.
