October 25-27, come have some totally tubular spooky fun as Blue Ridge Community College’s theatre department presents the 80’s Haunted Homecoming, written and performed by BRCC students, faculty, and alumni, directed by Jennifer Treadway. Each of the three performances begins at 7:00 pm and takes place in the student center located in the Killian Building on the Henderson County campus.
It’s 2018 and six former classmates--the Princess, the Cheerleader, the Jock, the Geek, the Basketcase, and the Burnout--have been called mysteriously back to the rubble of their old high school where on that same night 30 years before they had gathered for the homecoming dance of the ages. But who called them there and why? And what really happened that night 30 years ago?
They all think they know, and they are all DEAD wrong--Ha! Ha! Ha!
This totally “phat” show stars theater students Adrian Gonzalez, Olly Taylor and Katie Temple; alumni Courtney Creasman and Brent Shipman; as well as faculty member Katie Winkler. They are six slightly dysfunctional adults, reliving their glory, or not so glorious, days. Playing their memories before them are a whole host of BRCC and area high school students, along with long-time friend of the theatre department Gaysha Snipes as Quirky Art Teacher. Helping bring this haunting to life are stage manager Audrey Parker, choreographer McKinzie Sturgell and special effects coordinator Jordan Jakubielski.
All performances begin at 7:00 pm in the student center of the Killian Building. Cost is $5 for all students, BRCC faculty and staff--$7 for general admission. Due to limited seating in the Killian Building, reservations are highly recommended. For more information or to make reservations, contact the theatre department at (828) 694-1849 or email Jennifer Treadway.
