What is an emergency?

An emergency is a situation that is unexpected and requires immediate attention.

Examples may include:

  • Evictions
  • Disconnection notices

What is not considered an emergency?

  • Tuition, fees, supplies, and other expenses related to school

  • Unsecured debt such as credit cards
  • Any consistent and ongoing bills that are not in the disconnection phase

To be eligible, you must be:

  • Currently enrolled at Blue Ridge Community College
  • Maintaining good Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP). This means an accumulative average of a 2.0 GPA.

Each request for emergency funds will be examined separately. The Financial Aid & Scholarship Committee will use their discretion to determine if a grant is approved.
