Federal Pell Grant
A Federal Pell Grant is a grant that does not have to be repaid by the student. To apply for a Pell Grant, students need to complete the FAFSA. The award amount will be determined upon FAFSA results, a student’s program of study, and enrollment status. Applicants must have a high school diploma, adult high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma. Students holding a Bachelor’s degree are ineligible.
Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant is a grant for students with exceptional financial need. To apply for FSEOG, students need to complete the FAFSA and qualify for a Federal Pell Grant with a $0 Expected Family Contribution.
North Carolina Community College Grant
The North Carolina Community College Grant is a grant awarded to NC residents who complete the FAFSA and meet eligibility criteria. All students who complete the FAFSA are screened for eligibility. Award amounts are determined by the state based upon FAFSA results and enrollment status. Students must be enrolled at least half-time, must be a North Carolina resident, and must not have a Bachelor’s degree. Funds are available for the fall and spring semesters only.
North Carolina Education Lottery Scholarship
The North Carolina Education Lottery Scholarship is a scholarship awarded to NC residents who complete the FAFSA and meet eligibility criteria. All students who complete the FAFSA are screened for eligibility. Award amounts are determined by the state based upon FAFSA results and enrollment status. Students must be enrolled at least half-time, be a North Carolina resident, and must not have a Bachelor’s degree.
