The Central Sterile Processing Apprenticeship program allows eligible high school graduates and adult learners to earn while you learn in the classroom and on the job. The program is a collaborative effort of Blue Ridge Community College, Henderson County Public Schools, Transylvania County Public Schools, Homeschool Association, and AdventHealth Hendersonville working together to support students.

The Central Sterile Processing Apprenticeship program is a registered North Carolina Apprenticeship with the N.C. Department of Labor.

Central sterile processing technicians ensure that surgical instruments are properly cleaned, inspected, assembled and sterilized for use in the operating room. Sterile processing is a fast-paced, detail oriented job that provides the necessary tools to be used in surgical procedures. During your apprenticeship, you will learn many different types of surgical instruments, along with how to operate different types of washers and sterilization equipment.
