The Electrical Apprenticeship program allows eligible high school graduates and adult learners to earn while you learn in the classroom and on the job. The program is a collaborative effort of Blue Ridge Community College, Henderson County Public Schools, Transylvania County Public Schools, Homeschool Association, and Jackson Electric Contractors working together to the workforce of today and tomorrow.
The Electrical Apprenticeship program is a registered North Carolina Apprenticeship with the N.C. Department of Labor.

Program Description:

Length of Program: Three years. 4-6 semesters. 4,800-6,000 hours of on-the-job training.
Eligibility: January 2023 High School Graduates and Adult Learners.
Tuition: Free. Plus, you’ll get PAID to attend class.
Starting Pay: $15.00. Periodic increases. Pay after completion: $20.00.
Class Hours: Minimum 432.
Schedule: Begin work with Jackson Electric Contractors now; classes will begin in Spring 2023.
Application and Hiring Process
For adult learners and those graduating in January 2023:
- Applications sent weekly during enrollment to JEC.
- If selected, a contingent offer of employment will be extended with specific details to follow.
- If hired, you will begin employment.
- Class will begin Spring 2023.
