Mechatronics Apprenticeship
The Mechatronics Apprenticeship program allows eligible high school graduates and adult learners to earn while you learn in the classroom and on the job. The program is a collaborative effort of Blue Ridge Community College, Henderson County Public Schools, Transylvania County Schools, Henderson County Homeschool Association, the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development, the Transylvania Economic Alliance, and local manufacturing employers working together to support the workforce of today and tomorrow.
The Mechatronics Apprenticeship Program is a registered North Carolina Apprenticeship with the N.C. Department of Labor.
Program Description
Length of Program: Two years. 3 semesters (Fall ’26 – Fall ’27) and 3,000 hours at work.
Eligibility: Recent high school graduates and adult learners.
Tuition: Tuition waivers are available for eligible, recent high school graduates, and financial aid may be available for those who qualify. Plus, you’ll earn a paycheck while attending class through your apprenticeship.
Starting Pay: Varies.
Pay After Completion: $18.00.
Schedule: Class one day a week. Work the remainder of the week at one of our partner companies.

Henderson County
Made in Henderson County is a coordinated effort established to enhance the connection between manufacturing businesses and the school system while telling the story of manufacturing, the products made here, and the people who make them. Since 2012, Henderson County Public Schools and the Henderson County Partnership for Economic Development have brought career-building and workforce development training to local middle and high schoolers through Made in Henderson County industry tours that showcase manufacturing opportunities.
Transylvania County
Work Local Transylvania is a coordinated effort inspired by the concept that students or adult learners don’t have to leave Transylvania County to find great high-paying, high-skilled jobs. This program is a collaboration between Blue Ridge Community College, the Transylvania Economic Alliance, Transylvania County Schools, and local manufacturers.
