Courses you will take

Course work may include transportation systems theory, braking systems, climate control, design parameters, drive trains, electrical/electronic systems, engine repair, engine performance, environmental regulations, materials, product finish, safety, steering/suspension, transmission/transaxles, and sustainable transportation, depending on the program major area chosen.

What you will gain

Graduates of this pathway should be prepared to take professional licensure exams, which correspond to certain programs of study, and to enter careers as entry-level technicians in the transportation industry.
Our Mission

The mission of the Automotive Systems Technology program is to support the College-wide goals pertinent to curriculum education by providing a quality NATEF/ASE certified training and education program to students, local independent garages, auto dealers, and the automotive industry in Henderson and Transylvania Counties. The Automotive Systems Technology Program prepares individuals for employment in the automotive service industry with training in all eight areas of ASE which include engine Repair; automatic transmission/transaxles; manual drive trains; suspension and steering; brakes; electrical/electronics; heating and air conditioning; and engine performance.
