Training sessions are intended for all members of the Community College system and will provide useful accident prevention information for employees. Please help us get the word out to faculty and staff members system wide about these events which are geared specifically towards community colleges.
- It is important that you sign into the webinar no earlier than 15 minutes prior to start of webinar.
- Webinars typically start at 10:00 am and run 60-90 minutes in duration. ARC Flash usually lasts 2 hours.
Health and Safety Training
EHSI is available to do onsite training including but not limited to Forklift training and Assessments, Hands-On Fire Extinguisher training for current and new employees, or customized training for your community college Professional Development Day.
10/3/2023 10AM Safety Refresher for Existing CC employees
This course is a safety refresher for CC faculty and staff who have already received their initial CC safety training. It will include the OSHA required bloodborne pathogens awareness annual training. We will also review chemical safety, electrical safety, fall prevention, ladder safety, and go over a list of OSHA’s most commonly cited violations. REGISTER HERE
10/17/2023 10AM Chemical Hygiene and Lab Safety
Intended for faculty members who work in our science labs, the Chemical Hygiene and Lab Safety training will cover some best practices in laboratory management and go over some of the many pitfalls to avoid. Topics will include chemical safety, chemical storage, Hazard Communication and Labeling, spill clean-up, and waste management. REGISTER HERE
11/7/2023 10AM Safe Holidays at Home and in the Office
This session will focus on avoiding some of the common causes of holiday related accidents at home and in the workplace including fall prevention, electrical safety, fire prevention, and more. REGISTER HERE
The mission of the Environmental Health and Safety Institute is to assist the NC community colleges in their pursuit of safe and healthy workplaces. EHSI currently provides safety training, inspections and air quality testing.
