LPN to RN Bridge

Nursing is an exciting and challenging profession in healthcare. We are passionate about training future nurses to join a network of healthcare providers who safeguard our communities’ overall health and wellness. Our program creates a vital pipeline of nurses that feeds much-needed talent into our healthcare system.

The Bridge option offers the Licensed Practical Nurse an opportunity to advance their education with completion of the Associate Degree Nursing Program. The program quickly opens the door for employment for its graduates. It also lays the foundation for them to advance their education at four-year institutions for a BSN.

Taught by experienced nurse educators, our students receive hands-on learning through classroom instruction and state-of-the-art simulation labs, and gain clinical experience at area hospitals, long-term care facilities, rehabilitation centers and clinics.

About the LPN to RN Bridge Option

The Associate Degree Nursing Program at Blue Ridge Community College is five-semesters in length. Classes follow a daytime schedule and are held face-to-face. A qualified applicant for the LPN to RN Bridge option can complete the associate degree in three semesters. Employment opportunities are vast within the global health care system and may include positions within acute, chronic, extended, industrial, and community healthcare facilities. Graduates of the Associate Degree Nursing program can expect to find employment in the Henderson and Transylvania Counties, as well as throughout the state and nation. On average, registered nurses in North Carolina can expect to earn $71,000 annually. (Source: U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, Occupational Employment and Wage Statistics, May 2021).
