Medical Assistant Entry Level
Blue Ridge Community College offers a continuing education program for Medical Assistant Entry Level.
This course is designed to teach the basics of the three aspects of Medical Assisting: Clinical, Administrative, and Laboratory. Course work includes instruction in scheduling appointments, insurance coding and billing, medical transcription, computer operations, assisting with examinations/treatments, performing routine laboratory procedures and ethical and legal issues. Upon completion, students will be eligible to apply for the national certification exam.

Medical Assistant Prep/Review
Blue Ridge Community College offers a continuing education program for Medical Assistant Prep/Review.
Important: This 53-hour class is designed for individuals who have a minimum of one year supervised healthcare experience (documented).
This course will review the three aspects of Medical Assisting: clinical, administrative, and lab for the student who is preparing for the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) exam.
The Healthcare Program at Blue Ridge Community College is an approved testing site for The National Healthcareer Association and will proctor the certifying exam for students completing this review class.
