Career & College Promise (CCP) is a state-wide program allowing eligible high school students to enroll in community college classes tuition-free. Students are responsible for fees, supplies, and textbooks which vary by class.
For Juniors and Seniors:
- Have an unweighted high school GPA of at least a 2.8 OR
- Be “College Ready” in English, reading, and mathematics.
- “College Ready” is determined by PSAT, SAT, Pre-ACT, ACT, NC DAP, test scores from high school or by Blue Ridge placement test scores.

For Freshman and Sophomores:
- Be identified as gifted by i. Local AIG plan in English/reading and math; or ii. An aptitude and achievement test as evidenced by a score in the range between the 92nd percentile and the 99th percentile on the aptitude and the achievement test included in the Mental Measurements Yearbook published by the Buros Institute of Mental Measurements; and
- Demonstrate college readiness in English, reading and mathematics on an approved assessment
- View College Readiness Benchmarks (reference page 34: Attachment A for college readiness scores); and
- Receive recommendation verifying the student has maturity to enroll from high school principal or equivalent administrator; and receive recommendation of AIG Coordinator (if one is employed by the district); and
- Receive approval of college president or the college’s chief student development administrator or the college’s chief academic officer; and
- Receive written consent of the student’s parent/guardian; and
- Receive academic advising prior to enrollment in the program.
To qualify, students must be making progress toward high school graduation and
1) Be classified as either a high school junior or senior AND
2) Have a 2.8 or higher unweighted high school GPA OR
3) Demonstrate College Readiness in English, Reading, and Math from an approved assessment: PSAT, SAT, Pre-ACT, ACT, NC DAP or the Blue Ridge placement test OR
4) Obtain a recommendation from the high school Principal/designee requesting the GPA requirement be waived.
Freshmen and sophomores may enroll in certain CTE pathways provided the student meets strict academic requirements. Talk to the CCP Advisor for specifics.

- Complete the online CCP Application for Admission / Parent Permission form:
- Applications are available from and are completed through a digital application process provided by your assigned Blue Ridge Advisor.
- Please email your Blue Ridge Advisor after you and your parents have signed the digital application.
- Printable alternative:

- Return the completed CCP Application and signed Parents Permission Form to your high school Guidance Office or to the Blue Ridge Advisor.
- Ask your high school Counselor or Home School Administrator to provide the following:
- Transcript showing your current grade level and unweighted GPA
- Recommendation, if you are applying for a CTE pathway and your unweighted GPA is below a 2.8
- High school test scores from PSAT, SAT, Pre-ACT, ACT, NC DAP or the Blue Ridge placement test if required for your pathway
- College Transfer Pathways require a 2.8 or higher GPA OR demonstrated College Readiness in English, reading, and mathematics. “College Ready” is determined by PSAT, SAT, Pre-ACT, ACT, NC DAP, test scores from high school or by Blue Ridge placement test scores.

College transfer, business, education, interpreter education, etc. etc. classes are offered multiple times. Let the Blue Ridge Advisor know what day/time works for you. - Career and Technical Education Pathways
For automotive, engineering, film and video, machining, mechatronics, welding, etc. the schedule is built around your high school schedule. High school students are either at Blue Ridge in the mornings from 8:00-10:50 a.m. or in the afternoons from Noon-3:00 p.m.- Search the online curriculum course schedule to locate the courses listed on your pathway
- Determine if the class is offered at a time that works with your schedule.
- Notice that each class on the schedule is identified with a section number unique to the day/time the course is being offered.
- View the online curriculum course schedule and send an email to the advisor with the course prefix (example: PSY), Course Number (example: 150), and section number (example: 001).
- Online classes have a section number of 201, 202, 203, etc.
- Evening classes have a section number 011, 012.
- Transylvania County classes have a section number ending in 21 or 31.
- Provide your advisor with course prefix, course number, and section number (example: ENG 111 001) in order to register for the class.
- The Blue Ridge Advisor will register you automatically once your paperwork is complete.
Build your WebAdvisor account using the instructions below. WebAdvisor is where first get your Username and ID # with initial student account setup and then change your password.
Check your mail. Students, who are registered in July or early August and owe fees, will receive a copy of their schedule and an invoice in the mail. Your Blue Ridge student ID number is printed on these documents. Students taking classes on the high school campus may not owe fees and will not receive a schedule in the mail.
- myBlueRidge get username and initial student account setup and change password.
- myBlueRidge allows you to access personal information such as your schedule, charges, final grades, transcripts, financial aid if applicable, etc.
- myBlueRidge also allows you to pay your fees if you are using a Visa, MasterCard, or American Express. Credit card payments cannot be processed by phone.
Student Online Account Overview
- Access myCourses LMS by clicking on the Students panel of the homepage and clicking on “myCourses“
- Always log in to myCourses LMS on the first day of class!
- Additional resources are on the Blue Ridge website in Technology Services & Support.
- Go to the College Bookstore webpage
- Click on the box “College Bookstore Online” then “Shop Textbooks”
- In the “Find Course Materials” section, choose the following from the dropdown menus:
- Select Campus = Henderson County Campus or Transylvania County Campus
- Select Term = example: Spring 2022 HCC (Henderson County Campus) or Spring 2022 TCC (Transylvania County Campus)
- Select Dept. = Course prefix from your schedule (PSY)
- Select Course = Course number from your schedule (150)
- Select Section = A 3-digit number following the course number indicating the day/time the course is taught (002)
- Visit the Student Success Center
The Student Success Centers (SSC) provides academic support and tutoring to Blue Ridge Community College students in curriculum and developmental courses through the use of one-on-one instruction, peer and instructor tutoring, computerized instruction, and workshops. A Student Success Center instructor is always available, during the Center’s open hours, to provide assistance. The Student Success Center is located between General Studies and the Arts and Sciences Building on the Henderson County Campus. - Check out ThinkingStorm, an online tutoring service, available free for distance learning and traditional students on both campuses. Log into myCourses. Find the link to ThinkingStorm inside a course.
- Provide your own transportation to/from Blue Ridge if you are taking classes on the Blue Ridge Campus. Classes on the Blue Ridge Campus are dismissed in sufficient time for you to get back to your base high school, but you do not have time to make stops along the way.
- Drive to the Balfour Education Center for classes or ride the bus to/from Balfour. The bus runs 3 times daily from each base high school.

- Receive text messages about campus delays, cancellations, or emergency messages.
- Continue progressing toward high school graduation.
- Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 in college coursework after completing two courses.
- Falling below the 2.0 GPA requires students to fulfill the College’s policy for satisfactory academic progress.
