The Blue Ridge Community College Archive and Special Collections was started in January 2023 as the Library’s Local History Project. Its goal was to contribute to the regional efforts of preserving the rich histories of our area with a specific focus on oral histories. As the project grew into the College Archive, those original collections expanded and now cover the history of the College from 1969 to the present and the history of local communities in Henderson, Transylvania, and Buncombe counties. While oral histories remain a priority collection focus for the Archive, our collections also include photographs, paper documents, books, newspaper articles, school regalia, and more.
