2023-2024 Blue Ridge Concert Series Schedule

Tuesday evenings at 7:30 p.m.
in the Bo Thomas Auditorium in the Sink Building
on the Henderson County Campus.

Ticket prices will be $10 for general admission, and $5 for students.

Dr. Kevin Ayesh, piano

Kevin Ayesh, Artistic Director of the Concert Series and Blue Ridge Community College’s Lead Music Instructor from 1992 until 2021, has presented recitals and master classes at colleges and universities throughout the United States, as well as in Canada, Europe, and Hong Kong. His program will feature works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff.
A reception follows this concert, with cake provided by Chef Dan Knapp of Lake Pointe Landing Retirement Community.


Dr. James Helton

Dr. James Helton, piano

James Helton is Professor of Music Performance and Coordinator of the Piano Area at Ball State University, where he teaches piano and chamber music. He has performed throughout most of the United States and in Latin America, the Czech Republic, Spain, and Thailand. He will present an all-French program, including selections by Couperin, Bonis, Franck, and Debussy.


Dr. Kirill Gliadkovsky

Dr. Kirill Gliadkovsky, piano

A Concert Series favorite, Russian virtuoso Kirill Gliadkovsky returns to Blue Ridge Community College with a program of masterpieces by Bach, Clementi, Chopin, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Gershwin, and others. A prizewinner in many international competitions, he has toured extensively on three continents. He teaches at Saddleback College in California.


Lino Rivera

Dr. Lino Rivera, piano

Born in the Philippines, Lino Rivera is a professor in the Performing Arts Department at Saint Mary’s College of California. He concertizes widely, and is a celebrated performer for Composers, Inc., a San Francisco-based organization dedicated to promoting works by contemporary American composers. At Blue Ridge Community College he will perform works by Bach, Beethoven, Schubert, and Liszt.
