Our Summer Academy camps offer fun, affordable, high-quality learning opportunities for elementary, middle and high school students. Students will gain valuable hands-on skills and problem-solving experiences across a variety of engaging topics.

ArcStrong
Design. Fabricate. Weld.
A one-day introduction to the world of welding.
Open to rising 9th through 12th graders
Students will receive an introduction to the world of welding, emphasizing gas metal arc welding (MIG) and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). This one-day camp includes learning a new skill while having fun at the same time. Students will see how to safely turn molten metal into unique creations, including a project they can take home with them. Now, let’s get to melting some metal!

Amazing Race for Future Healthcare Heroes
A half-day introduction to the world of healthcare.
Open to rising 7th-9th graders. *Limit 12 Campers
Fast-paced, team-based competition introducing healthcare skills, teamwork, and career exploration.

Automotive Refinishing Technology (ART)
Middle School:
Two half days of camp introducing the Art of Automotive Refinishing.
Open to rising 7th-9th graders.
Do you like cars? Would you want to learn how to properly paint (ART) a car?
Students will explore the many phases and processes in refinishing a car. This hands-on camp will allow students to build out and finish a camp-provided model car. This camp will culminate in a ceremony with the students showing their training panels and cars, sharing a pizza dinner and presentation of certificates.
High School:
One day camp introducing the Art of Automotive Refinishing.
Open to rising 10th-12th graders.
This hands-on Automotive Refinishing Summer Camp gives high school students a real-world introduction to the collision repair industry. Campers learn essential skills like panel sanding, precision masking, and professional painting through live, shop-style activities.
Students build confidence, creativity, and practical skills while exploring an in-demand career path—perfect for those who love working with their hands and seeing real results.

C.A.R.
Cool. Automotive. Repair.
A one-day introduction to the world of automobiles.
Open to rising 7th through 9th graders
Students will explore automotive maintenance basics through a review of car design, roadside safety, and basic car care. This one-day C.A.R. camp is full of hands-on lab activities, including changing oil, checking tire pressure and identifying parts. Participants will wrap up the day with a Pit-Crew Challenge.

Hair Art and Design
A one-day camp introducing students to the creative world of beauty.
Open to rising 9th through 12th graders & 2026 high school graduates
Join Blue Ridge’s Cosmetology Department for a day of fun, design and creation. Campers will explore the world of hair design with hands-on mannequin work and one-on-one interaction. Discover the many exciting techniques and skills used in the cosmetology industry.

Metal Makers Academy
Dream it. Machine it.
A one-day introduction to the world of advanced manufacturing.
Open to rising 9th through 12th graders
Students will receive an introduction to computer-aided drafting and machining, emphasizing manufacturing processes in our state-of-the-art machining facility. This one-day camp combines learning new skills with having fun. Students will even get to take home one of their own metal creations! Now, let’s get machining!

Young Builders Camp
Inspiring young minds. Crafting young dreams.
A one-day introduction to the world of carpentry.
Open to rising 7th through 9th graders
Embark on a day of hands-on discovery with our one-day carpentry experience designed for young students! Guided by skilled instructors, participants will immerse themselves in the world of woodworking, learning essential carpentry skills and safety protocols. From measuring and cutting to assembling their own small project, students will gain a practical understanding of craftsmanship. This immersive experience sparks creativity, fosters teamwork, and builds confidence as young builders bring their visions to life in a safe environment, leaving with both a tangible creation and a newfound appreciation for the art of carpentry.

Young Engineers Experience (YEE)
Solve. Explore. Experience.
A two-day STEM camp introducing students to the world of engineering.
Open to rising 7th through 9th graders
Camp leaders will introduce students to the exciting industry of engineering! The YEE camp is filled with fun, hands-on activities designed to promote problem solving and teamwork. Campers will engage in projects and demonstrations that will introduce robotics, electrical circuits, electronic soldering, hydraulics and balsa wood bridge building.

Students are responsible for their lunches, drinks, and snacks throughout the day. Please bring a refillable water bottle with a lid each day.
