Blue Ridge Community College Summer Camps offer fun, affordable, high-quality learning opportunities for middle and high school students. Your budding car enthusiast, future welder, entrepreneur, hair designer, or engineer can explore and develop their skills in one-, three- and four-day camps.
Design. Fabricate. Weld.
A one-day introduction to the world of welding
Open to rising 9th through 12th graders
Students will receive an introduction to the world of welding, emphasizing gas metal arc welding (MIG) and plasma cutting. This one-day camp includes learning a new skill while having fun at the same time. Students will see how to safely turn molten metal into some very cool projects, including a project they can take home with them. Now, let’s get to melting some metal!

Cool. Automotive. Repair.
A one-day introduction to the world of automobiles
Open to rising 7th through 9th graders
Students will explore automotive maintenance basics through a review of car design, roadside safety, and basic car care. This one-day C.A.R. camp is full of hands-on lab activities, including changing oil, checking tire pressure, and identifying parts. Participants will wrap up the day with a Pit-Crew Challenge.

Hair Up! Train Up!
A one-day camp introducing students to the creative world of beauty
Open to rising 9th through 12th graders and 2021 graduates
Join Blue Ridge’s Cosmetology Department for a day of fun, design, and creation. Campers will explore the world of hair design with hands-on mannequin work and one-on-one interaction and will discover many exciting techniques and skills used in the cosmetology industry today. Come see what you can discover in the creative and exciting world of beauty.

A three-day camp introducing students to the world of entrepreneurship
Open to rising 9th through 12th graders.
Students will explore what it takes to start a successful business in a fast-paced and fun atmosphere. Students will learn idea formation, decision making, business modeling, marketing, planning, and presentation skills. Come meet and hear real-life success stories from local entrepreneurs. Participants will receive awards based on presentations to a panel of Sharks!
Shark Tank June 14-16 | Henderson County Campus | 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Students are responsible for their lunches, drinks, and snacks throughout the day. Please bring a refillable water bottle with a lid each day.
Camp participants and leaders will be required to follow all COVID-19 safety measures required by federal, state, and local public health officials.
